Frank Kaleb Jansen - Founder/Chairman (1980 - 2009)
Greetings to you from the Himalayas!! Even though the last few months were really challenging with heavy rainfall and floods, we were still able to continue our work. These are a few highlights:
We had a youth team from Delhi who came and blessed our children and the Church. They praised God with beautiful singing, action songs, messages and bible stories. It was a real treat for a church group to come to this community.
The Children’s Development Center (CDC) is running well with the kids coming happily every day to the project. They are learning new songs, getting closer to the Lord, eating good food (above photo) and going regularly to schools. A parent recently said, “if there was no CDC my two kids would have probably died, because my husband doesn’t care for me and I can’t go for a job since I have a small baby and so there is hardly any food at home.”
Pray for 2 of our teenage girls who are facing a lot of hardships at home. They were beaten up, their Bibles were thrown away and now they are not allowed to come to the Church or to the Campus. They are in tears and grave sorrow and need your fervent prayers.
One of our members, Lalita was recently taken up to glory. She was a liver patient and was under treatment for all these years. I will tell you how things are done in the mission fields. She died in the hospital and since we do not have any mortuary the body was brought home that night. Some people from the church went and cleaned up the house and made arrangements for the funeral on the next day. The following early morning we went to the house. We had to first go and purchase the wood and then do some carpentry and make the coffin (as we do not get ready made coffins here). Then we conducted the funeral service and walked for one hour through the forest to reach a public cemetery where our believers dug a hole and the body was buried. She left behind her husband & 3 daughters.
Yours in Him,
For Your Praise and Prayer Times
Pray for Mary and Josh, my daughter and son-in-law, who will be taking over the operations of Bibles for All. Praise God for 24 years of running BfA. I need to step back and let them take it over.
Thank you, dear co-workers. Know that your prayers and gifts are bringing the Gospel of the Kingdom to many.
Bob, Nina, Mary and Josh
